The coin's latest calls

Each Verdict takes a real FPL dilemma, sets out the case for both options, admits it's still 50/50 and lets the coin decide. After the gameweek we report how the coin did, good or bad. Every Verdict follows our editorial policy.

The first five are Season Verdicts: our own 50/50s from GW1 to GW5 of 2026/27, flipped before each deadline with a coin app, before FPL Shrine existed. From launch, new Verdicts are flipped live on FPL Shrine.

A head-to-head flip counts as right if the coin's pick outscored the other option, wrong if not, and level if they tied. For a bench call, the coin's pick is the player it benched, so it's right if that player scored less. A transfer whose new player goes straight into our team that week counts as a head-to-head too, and we keep tracking its running total on the post. Other long-term calls (chip timing, and squad moves like which keeper to keep) play out over weeks, so we report what they've returned but leave them out of the right-or-wrong count. GW1 to GW5 were flipped pre-launch; GW6 onwards are flipped live on FPL Shrine.
